b) NEW! "WRITE YOUR DARN SCREENPLAY!" 8-WEEK CLASS

Stop Procrastinating! What are you waiting for? It's time to GET YOUR SCREENPLAY WRITTEN! This is a class for serious writers (well, you can have a sense of humor) who are seriously interested in getting their feature screenplay written -- or rewritten well. Many writers struggle with motivation: this class will keep you on track -- think of it as a FILM COACH -- to make sure you are getting that draft DONE! But it is more than that: class size is VERY limited to allow for intimate group feedback, and we will be workshopping scenes and addressing various writing topics. This class is also suited for people in the re-write process.

• Pre-requisite: Screenwriting 101: The Basics or suitable experience -- I will evaluate your writing.
• Commitment: A minimum of 5 hours per week of writing time, an hour a workday is fine. A minimum of 2 hours to devote to homework.
• You may begin a new screenplay or work on an existing one of yours. This class is also terrific for the rewrite and polish process.
• Each week we will cover different topics. The topics may shift according to flow of class and needs of writers. Sample topics include: The Treatment, The Step-Outline, Dialog, Pacing, Character Development, Mythic Structure and overview of teachers of structure including Syd Field and others.
• Every week you will be working on your screenplay.
• Every week I will address formatting issues you may have, as they come up, for instance the proper ways to deal with intercutting, how to handle subtitles, etc.
• We will be workshopping scenes in class.
• You will be responsible for homework assignments and readings.
• As part of your homework, you will provide feedback and critique of colleagues’ work -- this is an invaluable learning tool as well.
• NOTES: Class size is limited to 8. You must demonstrate a solid understanding of screenplay writing, both in form and content, to be accepted into the workshop. Harriette is available for extra consulting for those who need extra help -- this is an add-on, you are expected to be able to write well enough to embark on this journey together. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WRITE THAT DARN SCREENPLAY!

WORKSHOP: 8-WEEK WRITE YOUR DARN SCREENPLAY!
DATES: March/April 2011. 2012 Dates TBD TIME: 6-9 PM
TUITION:
$800.00 plus purchasing THE SCREENWRITER'S BIBLE by TROTTIER and $30.00 MATERIALS FEE.***REDUCED FEE FOR COACHING ONLY** SEE BELOW
LOCATION:
Location near Miami Shores. CLASS SIZE LIMITED TO 8. $75.00 REQUIRED TO RESERVE SPOT. Fee for Paypal.

*** Harriette will be giving you individual ongoing feedback, devoting a set-amount of time to read your screenplays each week. This is reflected in the course price. If you do NOT want any feedback, a fee for "film coaching" - keeping you on track with your writing and attending lectures will be $450.00 NOTE: Harriette will not write your screenplays for you. If you need extra guidance and consulting you can work that out with her for a reasonable fee. Everyone will be given friendly check-ins during week - reminders to get your writing done! IN 2 MONTHS OF WRITING, IF YOU DO YOUR WORK, YOU WILL HAVE A WORKING DRAFT OF YOUR SCREENPLAY COMPLETED. YEAH! GET IT DONE! IT'S ALMOST 2012!

c) Screenwriting 201: Digging Deeper I AM NOW LIMITING THIS CLASS TO ONLY FOUR (4) PEOPLE SO YOU GET VERY INTENSIVE FEEDBACK ON YOUR SCREENPLAYS. Now that you understand the basics, it's time to dig deeper into character and plot development, story structure, dialog, theme and nuance. I will bring together the major Story Structure ideas of seminal teachers such as Syd Field and Michael Hauge so that all the ideas you read about can be put into context. I want everything to make easy sense for you. You will work on your own original screenplays. We will also discuss production viability and how to tailor our screenplays to our budgets. You will receive personalized feedback on your work by Harriette and -- as a powerful learning tool -- you will also be offering feedback on your colleagues' work. You will receive A LOT of feedback on your screenplays and ideas. I keep this class very small -- now only 4 people -- so I can give you personal attention, including hands-on writing and rewriting and suggestions on your screenplays. This is similar to my private consulting and rewriting but more affordable. I have adjusted the price to reflect how small I am keeping the class***This workshop will also include a special meeting four weeks after class ends where we will meet again to discuss your screenplays -- this way you have extra time to work on them. I find this is very helpful for the writers.

TESTIMONIAL: "Besides taking Screenwriting 101, attending Screenwriting 201 Digging Deeper was the best thing I could've done for myself. For a long time I dreamed of writing a screenplay, but without these courses my dream would've probably remained just that, a dream. Since taking Harriette's courses there has been no turning back for me.

Harriette is an inspiring teacher who is genuinely concerned with her student's development. Her incredible knowledge of the industry and attention to detail are paramount.

My favorites are Harriette's attentiveness and her honest but constructive feedback. Just the information in the materials provided is alone worth the cost of entire course. And the classes are small so there is constant personal attention. I highly recommend taking Screenwriting 201 to all those serious about achieving the dream." (A. Fuentes)
